Denied refund for unused ticket

NEVER AGAIN! I accidentally bought tickets from NY to Washington DC instead of the inverse. I spoke to the agent at the DC bus terminal and she informed me that I could call customer service and ask for a cancellation of my ticket and that I would be guaranteed my money back because I haven't printed my ticket out yet. I asked her if she could authorize a refund for me at the station, but she said I must request the cancellation online. She informed me that this would not be considered a "refund," because my situation is unique -- it would be issued as a cancellation with my money returned to my bank account promptly.

The next business day, I called customer service and a representative named Ms. Hill was extremely unhelpful and rude -- she kept talking over me and did not give the slightest indication that she wanted to help. She informed me that because my ticket was non-refundable, there is absolutely nothing she can do and that if the agents at the bus terminal wanted to issue me a refund, they could have done so, but customer service can't help me. I told her my unique situation and repeated what the bus terminal agents said, but Ms. Hill was yet again, unhelpful.

I called again and asked her if I could at least have an exchange for my ticket because it hasn't been used and it's extremely disappointing to have wasted a perfectly good ticket just because I purchased the wrong ticket. Yes, that was my fault, but I'm sure a huge company like Greyhound and afford to let me exchange my ticket. It wouldn't even be considered losing money for them;they would just not be making any gains. This alone speaks volumes of what a greedy company Greyhound is. Ms. Hill told me again there is nothing she can do. SO unhelpful, it was ridiculous. Never giving business to Greyhound again.
