Worst way to travel... - Greyhound Bus Co.


I had traveled with Greyhound once before, and it was my first experience with them. The travel was fine, all buses were on time, and except for the long hours spent on the bus, it was generally an OK trip. After this however, I have had nothing but problems with Greyhound.

First, my boyfriend (after being told he could change his ticket date by customer service), was refused at the Knoxville station, and told to come back another day to change it. They did, after much frustration and trouble.

The time after that, we traveled together and were stuck in Pennsylvania for 5 hours on a broken-down bus. It took that long for them to get us a new driver/bus. It happens, yes, but the experience was terrible.

Finally, I went to change my ticket date (the ticket, I bought online), and was turned away from the station (also in Knoxville, coincidentally) and told I was not allowed to change my ticket date because I bought my ticket online. This is absolutely outrageous because a ticket is a ticket, regardless of how you purchase it. Its money spent. The ticketseller told me to "try using the ticket anyway"... With the wrong date? So I can get stranded in another state that won't accept my expired ticket? Okay.

Anyway, after all of this my boyfriend and I have gone through with Greyhound, I will never use Greyhound again. I ended up purchasing an expensive (very expensive) last minute plane ticket because I was so fed up with all of this. Greyhound needs to get themselves into check and fix this terrible service.

PS. Maybe next time I'll try Megabus (and spend 1/3 of the price).
